Washington is hands down the most gorgeous place I have ever lived. There are endless possibilities for engagement photos. From desert to mountains to ocean, Washington has it all. I am going to be sharing with you my favorite spots to take engagement photos as a Washington engagement photographer.

Located in Snoqualmie, this is one of my favorite spots for a few reasons. There are actually elk at this field and they get pretty close! It is so cool to see elk running by during sessions and sometimes I even get elk in the background of photos. This spot also has a gorgeous view of Mt. Si. I recommend this spot for golden hour, since there isn’t a lot of shade.

Located in Yakima, this is such a beautiful spot for couples who want that classic grassy field look for their engagement session. The wide-open fields create a soft, timeless backdrop that feels so natural and effortless in photos. When I came here in May, it was absolutely perfect—the weather was warm and sunny, the light was golden, and there were even a few flowers starting to bloom, adding little pops of color to the scenery.

Discovery Park in Seattle is huge, and it offers such a wide variety of backdrops for engagement photos. The best feature of this park is the large bluffs that overlook the water, giving you those sweeping, dramatic views that feel so true to the Pacific Northwest. It also has those classic fields of tall grass that so many couples love—the kind of setting that feels effortlessly romantic and timeless in photos.
As a Washington engagement photographer, I love how versatile this location is. You can get a mix of scenery without having to walk too far, which makes it a great choice for couples who want beautiful photos without a long hike.

This spot in Eatonville is beautiful for summer engagements, and it’s one of my favorite places as a Washington engagement photographer. On a sunny day, this spot has a stunning view of Mt. Rainier, and the mountain turns a beautiful purpleish pinkish color during sunset. I have shot here many times on both sunny and cloudy days, and it has become a go-to location for me year-round.

Irene Rinehart Riverfront Park is located in Ellensburg and is such a hidden gem for engagement sessions. I love that it sits right along the river, which makes for some really unique and romantic shots with the water in the background. The tall trees and open spaces also give us a lot of variety to work with, so your gallery feels full of different looks all in one location. Another reason I love this park is that it doesn’t usually get too crowded, which my clients really appreciate—especially if they feel a little nervous in front of the camera. The quiet atmosphere allows you to relax, be yourselves, and enjoy the session without distractions, which always makes for the most natural and genuine photos.

If you’re dreaming of engagement photos that feel timeless and showcase the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, these are my top recommendations. As a Washington engagement photographer, my goal is to help you feel comfortable, have fun, and create images that truly capture your love story in a breathtaking setting.
